Work underway on new Aldi store for Slaithwaite

Work has started on the brand new Aldi store in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire, with the main contractors PDR Construction moving on to site this month.

A site office has been established and the construction team is currently working on the internal strip out of the rundown former Colne Mill off Britannia Road in Slaithwaite ahead of main construction work starting.

The plans for the new 12,100 sq. ft. sales area store  were approved in November last year. The building has been designed in natural stone and corten steel. 

As well as a new store with good links to the other shops and facilities in Slaithwaite the development, being brought forward by Barnsley based Dransfield Properties Ltd, will also deliver a new 90 space car park and highway improvements.

The new store is scheduled to be completed in time for opening before Christmas 2014.
