Gainsborough set for international map!
26 April 2007
Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough is set to be put firmly on the international map this weekend, as a Porsche 997 Turbo emblazoned with the Marshall’s Yard logo drives 3000 miles in eight days in the world famous Gumball Rally.
The car will be known as ‘the Marshall’s Yard car’ and with extensive television coverage, the Gainsborough name will be heard by millions of viewers across Europe! Over 120 ‘supercars’ will cover 16 countries and 2 continents during the race, which is famous for attracting the international jet set, with Hugh Hefner, Jodie Kidd, Caprice, Johnny Knoxville, Snoop Dogg, Fun Loving Criminals, Jamiroquai and Kylie Minogue amongst the regular participants. The race kicks off with a launch party in Pall Mall in London tomorrow evening (Friday, 27 April), but the Marshall’s Yard car will begin its journey earlier during the day, setting off from Marshall’s Yard at 1.30 pm. The car is being driven by Marcus Lund, son of John Lund of Prospect Estates joint developers of Marshall’s Yard with Dransfield Properties. Mark Dransfield, Managing Director of Marshall’s Yard Ltd said: “The gumball rally attracts extensive media coverage and we’re delighted that Marcus has chosen to adorn his car with the Marshall’s Yard logo. Who knows, maybe the celebrities involved in the race might be encouraged to make a visit to the town!”
