Topping Out Celebrated at Morpeth's Fantastic New Animal Hospital

21 March 2012

A special topping out ceremony has been held this week to celebrate the roof going on at Morpeth's brand new veterinary practice being built at Whorral Bank.

The practice is relocating to a new purpose built animal hospital from its present Low Stanners premises in Morpeth which is on the site of the town's new supermarket, also currently under construction.

The new development is being delivered by Dransfield Properties who have worked with local businesses to relocate them from the development site to new premises in the town.

Once the Robson and Prescott  veterinary practice has moved across to the brand new premises at Whorral Bank in Morpeth the contractors Tolent can then start work on that part of the site.

The new building will be completed by the summer and the extra space will allow the practice, which currently employs 50 people, to grow and expand. It will have separate treatment areas for equine and farm animals and small animals.  There will also be a paddock, stabling, manege and a trotting up area.

To mark the roof going on a flag was dropped from the brand new building by Shelagh and Sam Prescott from Robson and Prescott who were joned by site manager Paul Wilson of Tolent as well as the mayor Cllr Phil Taylor and county councillor Cllr Andrew Tebbutt as well as members of the professional team.

Amanda Holmes, from Dransfield Properties, said: "Its great to see the work progressing on the new vets and everyone is really looking forward to the practice relocating to their fantastic new premises. That in turn will allow us to start work on the rest of the site at  Low Stanners and deliver  Morpeth's new supermarket."
