Sweet new arrival for Selby as Chocolotte prepares to open at Market Cross

Selby’s Market Cross Shopping Centre is set to welcome a delicious new addition this November, as local entrepreneur Charlotte Hanger prepares to open her first business — Chocolotte — a dessert and milkshake shop born from a love of all things sweet.

Aiming for opening on Saturday 29th November, Chocolotte will offer an irresistible menu of indulgent milkshakes, crepes, waffles, cookie dough, brownies, icecream and more.

The shop will primarily cater for takeaway customers, with a small seating area available for those who want to sit in and enjoy their treats.

Charlotte, who currently works as an accountant, is turning her lifelong passion for chocolate into a reality with the help of her husband Jon, who will be working alongside her in the business.

As part of her plans, Charlotte will also be working with local suppliers to source quality ingredients and support other independent businesses in the region.

“Opening Chocolotte is a dream come true,” said owner Charlotte,  “I’ve always loved creating and sharing sweet treats, and I can’t wait to bring that joy to the shoppers of Selby.

“Whether it’s a creamy milkshake, a gooey brownie, or a fresh waffle, we want Chocolotte to be a place where everyone can enjoy a little moment of happiness. Supporting local suppliers is also really important to me — it’s a great way to give something back and celebrate what our great community has to offer.”

Melissa Clement, from the Market Cross management team, added: “We’re really proud to support growing, independent businesses like Charlotte’s. Chocolotte will bring something fresh and fun to Market Cross, and we wish Charlotte and Jon every success as they open their first store here in Selby.”

Chocolotte will be located next to The Works and the Yorkshire Cancer Research shop at Market Cross.

As well as the soon-to-open Chocolotte, Market Cross is home to a fantastic mix of retailers including Coopers Grocers, Websters Butchers, and The Cobblers Last, alongside well-known national names such as Home Bargains, The Works, and Vodafone.
