New wave of independent traders join Stroud’s Home of Vintage at Five Valleys
12 February 2026
Stroud’s Home of Vintage is set for another exciting phase of growth as a host of new independent businesses join the line-up, following the destination’s first phase opening in December.
A major new addition is the Five Valleys Gallery, taking one of the large units at the Home of Vintage and showcasing work from more than 30 local artists. The gallery will act as a creative hub, strengthening Home of Vintage’s role as a hub for Gloucestershire’s artistic and vintage community.
Working on a co-operative model, the new gallery opened at the weekend showcasing work from local artists and makers, including gallery founder Chris James, Tania Fullerton, Ewan Hyde, Mike Skinner, and Wioletta Quinn, with workshops and demonstrations already planned.
Tania said: “We are really excited about being part of the Home of Vintage with our local collective of artists – we have no permanent art space at the moment and this is such a great opportunity for us to be part of something special and really bring local art to life.”
Several further traders are also joining, with everything from second-hand toys and vintage bags to theatre props and collectibles, bringing even more variety to the already vibrant marketplace. There's even a photograpy studio - AJ Mills Photography.
New businesses include: Box and Clox, Sew and So Too, Cosy Curiosities, KB Bags, Lucy Felce Jewellery, Statham Custom Cabins, and The Five Valleys Gallery. Some are already trading and others will be opening in the coming weeks.
They join an established community of artists, makers, collectors, booksellers, retro décor specialists and vintage fashion traders, helping to cement Home of Vintage as the largest and most diverse vintage hall in the region.
Mick Grundy, Centre Manager at Five Valleys, said: “We’re excited to welcome these new companies to The Home of Vintage. We are creating something different and very special here, and we’re looking forward to what the next few months hold as this community continues to grow.”
A launch event is planned for the spring, celebrating the full line-up of traders and the continued evolution of the space.
The Home of Vintage sits in the main mall at Five Valleys, alongside the recently expanded and hugely popular Food Hall which attracts visitors from across the region. The Home of Vintage offers more than 30 bespoke units with flexible terms designed to support both established traders and new creative start-ups.
Five Valleys had record visitor numbers over the last 12 months, with annual footfall rising by 12.5% in 2025, welcoming 2.6 million visitors over the year. The growth reflects the centre’s continued evolution and the appeal of its distinctive mix of retail, food and leisure.
Since acquiring the previously failing Merrywalks Centre seven years ago, the centre owners, Dransfield Properties have delivered a £30 million phased programme of improvements, transforming the site into a thriving town-centre destination.
Five Valleys offers a strong independent retail line-up, a vibrant food hall, leisure uses, and key community facilities including a library and medical centre.
