Busy day on the cards as another new store opens at Tunstall’s Alexandra Park
19 March 2014
Card Factory is the latest company to open its doors to shoppers at Alexandra Park in Tunstall this week.
The new store covers 1,250 sq. ft. and the popular card and gift retailer joins Iceland who opened for trade last week and are already exceeding expectations at the centre.
The largest unit on this final phase of work at Alexandra Park will be taken by Home Bargains – due to open at the end of April. Two smaller units are currently being marketed.
Card Factory opened its first store in Wakefield in 1997 and the company now has more than 700 stores across the country.
Six new jobs have been created at the new Tunstall store which opened on the morning of Wednesday March 19th.
Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties Ltd, Amanda Holmes, said: "Card Factory is a great and extremely popular retailer and we are delighted the company has now opened the new store here at Alexandra Park.
“Iceland opened just over a week ago and the store has been really well received - we're now looking forward to Home Bargains joining the line up at the end of April."
Main construction work was completed on this final phase of work at Alexandra Park in February ready for the new stores to start fitting out.
The new retail units at Alexandra Park sit alongside the Boots Pharmacy and Primary Care Centre which both opened in September 2011. The centre is also home to a DW Sports and Fitness centre and is built around a central car park.
