Alexandra Park development taking shape in Tunstall ready for 2014 opening

27 November 2013

Work is progressing well on the final phase of the Alexandra Park development in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent.

The floor slab for the new Iceland unit has been poured and work is also underway this week on the floor of the largest of the five units which are being delivered in this final phase of the development.

The roof is now in place on the building and the contractors J. Tomlinson are also working on the block work.

Card Factory and Iceland have already announced they’re taking two of the five retail units being built in this final phase of works at Alexandra Park and other companies are to be announced over the next few weeks. Card Factory are taking a 1,250 sq. ft. unit and Iceland are taking a 6,135 sq. ft. store.

The brand new retail units will sit alongside the Boots Pharmacy and Primary Care Centre which both opened in September 2011.

The development is built around a central 240 space car park with good links to the town centre and is also home to a DW Sports Fitness Gym and store.

Main building work is due to be completed in January ready for the retailers to start fitting out their new stores.

Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties Ltd, Amanda Holmes, said: "The building is looking really impressive now and it’s great to see the roof in place and the whole structure taking shape. We’re looking forward to welcoming our new tenants to Alexandra Park early in the New Year.”
