Work to start on foundations at Slaithwaite's new ALDI store
12 May 2014
Work on the site of the new Aldi store in Slaithwaite, near Huddersfield, got underway in March this year – and the main contractors PDR Construction are on schedule for demolition to be completed within the next two weeks.
Once that phase of work is completed the construction team will start digging out the foundations of the new store which should be completed by the end of the month.
The steel frame of the brand new building will start to take shape throughout June which will be followed by the roof and cladding work.
The building has been designed in natural stone and corten steel and plans for the new 12,100 sq. ft. sales area store were approved in November last year
As well as a new store with good links to the other shops and facilities in Slaithwaite the development, being brought forward by Barnsley based Dransfield Properties Ltd, will also deliver a new 90 space car park and highway improvements.
Work is scheduled to be completed in time for the store to open before Christmas 2014.
