Selby restaurant extends lease at Market Cross

16 December 2020

The team at the popular Selby town centre Regency Restaurant extended their lease, committing to the town for a further six years.

The restaurant, which has a dine in and a takeaway menu, can be found at the first floor of the town’s Market Cross shopping centre.

This part of the centre has undergone a major £450,000 investment throughout 2020 to create new, high quality apartments as well as the relocation of Hair Innovations Hair Salon to a new prime location at the centre.

Previously known as China Palace the team have operated their popular restaurant from the 2,678 sq. ft. unit at Market Cross since 2005 - the lease extension means the business has further committed to the fully let centre through to 2026.

Selby is currently operating under Tier 2 restrictions which mean that the restaurant can remain open for both diners and for takeaway.

Market Cross is owned and managed by Sheffield based Dransfield Properties. Estates Surveyor Alisdair Gillespie said: “We are delighted that the team at The Regency Restaurant are extending their lease with us. The restaurant is a popular addition to Market Cross having been part of the centre for the last 15 years.

“We are fortunate that our Market Cross centre has seen several lease renewals as well as new tenants joining through 2020.”

Janet Pang from the Regency Restaurant, said: “We would like to thank our customers for supporting us through this year, we have been very happy here at Market Cross and are pleased to be extending our lease for the next six years.”
