Primary Care Centre Ready for September Opening

Tunstall's brand new Primary Care Centre is due to open next month - part of the second phase of the Alexandra Park development delivered by Dransfield Properties Ltd.

Work is on schedule for the new £4.5 million health care facility to open on September 19th - an official opening is planned later in the Autumn.

Miller Construction started work on this latest phase of the Alexandra Park development in November 2010. As well as the new Primary Care Centre covering 22,174 sq ft over two floors it will also house a new 5,000 sq ft Boots pharmacy. A further phase will create more retail space in the town.

The new facility will provide accommodation for;

·         GP practices – Dr Bose and Dr Sonnathi.

·         Dental Access Centre.

·         District Nursing, Health Visiting, School Nursing, and Specialist Nursing.

·         Paediatric Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and Podiatry.

·         Dietetics, Continence Services, and Orthoptics.

·         Blood testing.

The first phase of Alexandra Park already houses a successful DW Sports fitness centre and retail store as well as a Carephone Warehouse, it is also home to the iconic Shard sculpture by the award winning artist Robert Erskine.

The new development is also creating 241 car parking spaces, as well as landscaped grounds and a courtyard garden for patients and visitors with pedestrian and cycle access to the City’s Greenway Network.
