The managing director of Dransfield Properties, Mark Dransfield, has been given a top regional award in recognition of the company’s work in the Northumberland market town of Morpeth.
Mark was given the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Northumberland Business Awards held at Linden Hall near Morpeth on November 14th.
The annual event is organised by the Northumberland Gazette each year to recognise achievements, excellence and good practice in the region’s business community.
The Outstanding Achievement Award was given for the company’s work in Morpeth which has spanned eight years. The company started working on plans for the Sanderson Arcade development in 2005 and the town centre development was launched by Joanna Lumley four years later.
Earlier this year Dransfield Properties also delivered a new Morrisons store on a key site in the town with good links to the rest of the town centre, high quality architecture and an attractive fountain and landscaped area as well as new long and short stay parking.
The Arcade development has won a number of high profile national awards since it opened in November 2009 and the company is delighted to receive this latest accolade from the North East business community.
Mark said: “It was a lovely surprise to hear I had been put forward for this award and it will be taking pride of place in my office, it means a great deal as it comes from the community we have worked in.
“Delivering a development like Sanderson Arcade is of course a huge team effort, I’m sure that everyone at our company and within the professional team who has worked on the project will be as delighted as I am to be recognised in this way.
“Morpeth is a beautiful market town and we have sought from the outset to work in partnership with the wider community in delivering Sanderson Arcade and the supermarket development as well as the more recent markets project.
“We are fortunate to have worked with some fantastic stakeholders groups and individuals in the town who have a great passion and vision for Morpeth and we look forward to continuing to build on those relationships.”
