17 April 2014
Work is progressing well on the Fox Valley site in Stocksbridge North Sheffield with Henry Boot Construction currently working on the warehouse site as well as the sites of the new retail and housing developments.
At the new Tata Steel Warehouse bulk excavation works are progressing well and work to the new road and rail link to the warehouse is also underway.
The concrete is being laid for the new road and the preparation work for the new building and service yard is almost completed – the contractors have dug out more than 50,000m3 of ground in the last few weeks.
Work has also started on Block G – the iconic former steelworks canteen building and the construction team has started working on the residential land on the site. This work involves breaking up the existing hardstanding and remediating the ground in preparation for the housing development.
The Fox Valley development is being built on a 28 acre site with direct access off the A616 Sheffield to Manchester Road, the first phase of work is to relocate the Tata steel stockyard to the new warehouse facility.
Dransfield Properties has received an investment of £8,111,040 from the Yorkshire and Humber ERDF Programme 2007- 2013, which is managed by the Department for Communities and Local Government to bring forward the Fox Valley project.
