Fox Valley marks a decade at the heart of North Sheffield

27 May 2026

A landmark destination in north Sheffield is preparing to celebrate a major milestone as Fox Valley shopping centre marks its 10th anniversary.

Since opening in June 2016 with a high-profile launch led by Dame Joanna Lumley OBE, Fox Valley has grown into a vibrant retail and leisure hub at the centre of the Stocksbridge community.

Over the past decade, the centre has brought sustained investment to the area, created hundreds of jobs and established itself as a key destination for shoppers across north Sheffield and beyond.

To celebrate the occasion, the Fox Valley team is hosting a ‘Big Birthday Weekend’ on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June.

Visitors can expect a lively programme of entertainment, market stalls and giveaways, with activities designed to bring together families, residents and businesses in a shared celebration. The centre team has also launched a big birthday giveaway on Fox Valley’s social media channels.

Over the years, Fox Valley has evolved, blending national names with independent retailers to create a distinctive shopping experience.

Long-standing favourites such as Regatta, Seasalt, Ponti’s Italian Kitchen, Aldi, Martyn Kemp Opticians, Home Bargains, Holland & Barrett and Costa Coffee continue to trade successfully at the centre, alongside a growing number of newer additions.

The centre is also home to the region’s only standalone Trek store, while more recent arrivals include Shackleton’s Gallery, which introduced an innovative concept combining furniture, homewares and lifestyle retail in 2025.

Looking ahead, 2026 signals another exciting chapter. Construction is currently underway on a new Marks & Spencer Foodhall, due to open this autumn, further enhancing the centre’s retail mix.

Claire Biltcliffe, Centre Manager at Fox Valley, said: “It’s incredible to see how Fox Valley has grown over the past 10 years. What began as a brand-new development has become a real focal point for the community here in north Sheffield.

“We’re proud not only of the range of businesses we’ve attracted, but also of the events and experiences we’ve been able to bring to the area. The continued support from our visitors means a huge amount to us.

“This year is especially exciting as we celebrate our 10th birthday and look ahead to the future, including the arrival of M&S Foodhall. We’re looking forward to welcoming even more people as Fox Valley continues to grow.”

Developed by Dransfield Properties on the site of former steelworks land, Fox Valley represents a significant regeneration success story. The scheme has breathed new life into an area steeped in industrial heritage, with public art across the site paying tribute to Samuel Fox, pioneer of the Paragon umbrella frame who first brought the steel industry to Stocksbridge.

The Big Birthday Weekend takes place on 13 and 14 June, from 11am to 4pm each day. Visitors are encouraged to come along and be part of the celebrations.
