Fit out work underway on Tunstall’s brand new Iceland store

The frozen food retailer Iceland Foods has started fitting out the company’s brand new store at Alexandra Park in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent. 

The company – which has more than 800 stores across the UK  - is taking a 6,135 sq ft unit on the final phase of the Alexandra Park development which will also deliver four further brand new retail units.

Iceland has taken a 15 year lease on the new unit, creating 20 new jobs in the area.

The  retailer was ranked as Britain’s Best Big Retail Company to Work For in the 2013 Sunday Times Survey. The company’s new Tunstall store is scheduled to open on Tuesday March 11th.

The new retail units at Alexandra Park sit alongside the Boots Pharmacy and Primary Care Centre which both opened in September 2011, the centre also houses a DW Fitness Gym and store and a Carphone Warehouse. 

The development is built around a central 240 space car park with good links to the town centre and is also home to the impressive Shard sculpture.

Construction on the development site started in July last year and Iceland has now started fit our ready for the opening in March, joining other new retailers on the development including Card Factory.

Retail Property Director at Dransfield Properties, Andrew Malley, said: “Main construction work has been completed now on the larger units so the companies taking space here at Alexandra Park can move in and start their internal fit out.
