Final phase of Alexandra Park development nearing completion

The main construction work at Tunstall’s Alexandra Park development is nearing completion this week – ready for the first store to open early next month.

This week will see the main contractors working on the new car park area as well as completing the paving in front of the five new shop units which have been delivered in this phase of the Tunstall retail development.

Lighting is also being installed and the landscaping work at the centre will get underway next week.

The frozen food retailer Iceland has already started fitting out the company’s new store at Alexandra Park ready to open on March 11th and Home Bargain’s will start work on their store interior next week to open later in the Spring.

Card Factory is also due to open in mid March and the company will start work fitting out the new store towards the end of February – leaving just two of the smaller units still to be let.

The new retail units at Alexandra Park sit alongside the Boots Pharmacy and Primary Care Centre which both opened in September 2011, the centre also houses a DW Fitness Gym and store and a Carphone Warehouse. 

The development is built around a central 240 space car park with good links to the town centre and is also home to the impressive Shard sculpture. Work started on this final phase of the project in July last year.
