1 October 2008

The independent café Cream is to take the final unit at Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough offering a fantastic range of wholesome homemade food.

Husband and wife team Michael and Mette Robinson already run a successful café in Broomhill, Sheffield, and are now looking forward to bringing their winning family-friendly formula to Marshall’s Yard.

Cream will be opening their new café  in the end unit of Britannia House in November – it’s the final empty unit at the award winning Marshall’s Yard development which opened in April last year.

The couple live in Sturton le Steeple between Retford and Gainsborough with their two sons and decided Marshall’s Yard was the perfect place for their second café.

Danish born Mette said: “We have a menu that is definitely inspired by continental Europe but using English produce and always produce that is in season.

“Everything is made from scratch and nothing is pre packaged, our aim is always to offer good, down to earth, hearty food that people want to eat. It has always been my dream to have a place like Cream.”

Michael added: “We are both very excited about opening Cream at Marshall’s Yard, we felt it was a great location to open our second café. We are definitely going to be busy splitting our time between Gainsborough and Sheffield but we’re really looking forward to it.”

Cream’s commitment to good wholesome food runs through the entire menu. Diners have a fantastic choice from a full English breakfast to delicious sandwiches, fresh salads and tempting homemade desserts. Great coffee and healthy fruit smoothies are also on the menu.

The company has its own unique blend of coffee and offers a fantastic range of whole leaf teas as well as herbal and fruit teas. Customers can also buy tea and coffee to enjoy at home.

And Cream’s younger customers are also catered for – there’s a “no chips” policy on the children’s menu with all the dishes made from scratch and no processed foods.

The new Cream café is now being fitted out in time for the busy Christmas period. With a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, fantastic food and free wi-fi connection it’s sure to be a hit with the shoppers of Gainsborough.

Mark Dransfield,  Director of Marshall’s Yard, said: “Cream will be a fantastic addition to Marshall’s Yard. The café in Sheffield is extremely popular and we are confident that Michael and Mette’s strong ethos of offering good quality home cooked food will be very popular here in Gainsborough.”

Cream will open in November this year creating up to six new jobs. The café will open from 7:30am to 7pm on weekdays, 8.30am to 6pm on Saturdays and 9:30am to 5pm on Sundays.
