Christmas Lights Are Switched on at Marshall's Yard

Crowds gathered at Marshall's Yard on Friday night to count down to this year's Christmas Lights Switch On.

Thousands of people turned up to see the lights being switched on by Charlotte Fortune who is the star of this year's panto Cinderella showing at the town's Trinity Arts Centre.

Ed Bretton from Lincs FM hosted the event which went to plan with the Christmas display lighting up the yard on cue when Cinderella gave the signal. Father Christmas and Gainsborough's Town Crier also took part in the festive event.

There was music from Cinderella and from the talented youngsters from Gainsborough's Queen Elizabeth High School. Complimentary mince pies and mulled wine helped get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

Marshall's Yard Centre Manager Janet Linfoot, said: "It was a great night and I think everyone who came enjoyed themselves."
