Topping Out Ceremony at Sanderson Arcade

Developers bringing forward the brand new £32 million Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth are celebrating a major milestone in the scheme this week!

The roof is now taking shape on the new bus interchange which is being built as part of the new scheme in Morpeth – and to mark this stage of the project a special topping out ceremony is due to take place on Wednesday.

The new bus interchange which will be operated by Arriva Northumbria Ltd is on schedule to open in February.

It has been relocated as part of the £32 million Sanderson Arcade development which is attracting major national and regional companies to the town.

Marks and Spencers, New Look, Clarks, Laura Ashley, Waterstones, Starbucks, Body Shop and Fat Face are all already signed up to take units in the new shopping arcade.

A phased programme of store openings starts in February next year with all occupiers expected to be fully operational by early 2010.

The new stores will be housed in a stunning Edwardian style arcade and the scheme will also house modern, purpose built office space and is poised to bring a new commercial heart to Morpeth.

Sanderson Arcade is being brought forward by Morpeth 11 – the development partnership of Dransfield Properties Ltd and Ethel Austin Properties. Contractors Mansell are working on the development.
