Team Dransfield Win Cup in Charity 10k

Team Dransfield Win Cup in Charity 10k
20 April 2008
Hundreds of runners braved the mud and the rain to take part in this year's Theo's 10k Run and 2k Charity Fun run at Graves Park in Sheffield - in aid of Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity.
And the runners from Dransfield Properties who sponsored the annual fundraising event won the team cup, achieving the overall best times as a team on the day!
More than 600 runners took part in the 10k with 26 year old Thomas Bailey crossing the finishing line first - with a time of 36:09. The first Team Dransfield runner across the line was our own John Atkinson with an impressive time of 42:37.
Daniel Bingham from Accounts was next doing the course in 45:31 and Managing Director Mark Dransfield finished in 52:05 - making the Dransfield Team the fastest team finishers.
As well as the 10k run hundreds of runners of all ages also took part earlier in the day in Theos 2k fun Run. All the money raised goes towards the Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity.
Money from this year's run will be used to fund the Patient Interactive and Education Systems project, which aims to provide a system at every child’s bedside in the hospital.
Mark Dransfield said: "It was muddy and a bit wet but a good turn out and we're delighted to have won the team cup! So well done to everyone who took part. I'd like to encourage everyone to get their sponsorship money in now as quickly as possible."
