Jon joins the team at South Yorkshire firm Dransfield Properties

Solicitor Jon Cherry has this month joined the growing team at the South Yorkshire retail property specialists Dransfield Properties Ltd.

Jon, 27, joins the company after specialising in property investment for the Leeds office of the international law firm Pinsent Masons. He qualified last year after studying law in Manchester and London.

Jon is working with the surveying and management team at Dransfield Properties at the company’s Penistone head office from where the firm’s property portfolio is managed.

The company owns and manages shopping centres across the country including the Marshall’s Yard development in Gainsborough and Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth, Northumberland – both of which have won top industry awards in recent years.

The team at Dransfield Properties manage over 511,000 sq. ft. of retail space with more than 160 different tenants across all the company’s centres. As well as centres in Morpeth and Gainsborough the firm also owns developments in Manchester, Selby and Tunstall in Stoke on Trent.

Jon said: “I’m delighted to be joining the team here at Dransfield Properties and taking on the challenge of a brand new role working with the management team.

“I’m looking forward to working with the company’s clients and tenants and helping to make the process much smoother and faster – as well as learning more about the commercial side of the industry.”

Jon, from Leeds, joins the team at one of the busiest times in the company’s 23 year history. The company is currently on site with a retail development on a 1.8 acre site in east Hull as well as a £42 million new town centre at Fox Valley in north Sheffield, which is due to be completed in Spring 2016.

Dransfield Properties is also currently working on schemes in Royton in Oldham and in East Ham in the London borough of Newham.
