Hedon offices complete

7 February 2006

New offices at St Augustine’s Park, Hull Road, Hedon are ready for occupation, following the complete fit out of the two storey 10,010 sq ft building

The offices have been let to Centrica Storage Limited, part of energy and home services company Centrica plc who are operators of the UK’s largest gas storage facility and onshore gas terminal at Easington, East Yorkshire.  A number of the company’s employees will be relocating to the area.

Work started on the £3 million pound Dransfield Properties development in June last year. At a special brick laying ceremony, John Dennis, Mayor of Hedon, said: ““Centrica is a major blue chip tenant and its presence will ensure that other quality occupants will be secured.  It is encouraging to see that such a prestigious development has been brought to our area.”

Adjacent to a Co-op store on a gateway site which has long been in need of the development, the scheme will bring life to the disused area and attract new jobs.  It is in an ideal location as it is easily accessible, being on a main bus route, and having 121 car parking spaces.

A nursery operator has already signed up for an 8,000 sq ft unit on the park, providing a facility for over 80 children living nearby and for parents working at St Augustine’s Park.

The next phase of the scheme will deliver an additional 9000 sq ft of office space.   The offices can be divided into smaller units and are being marketed by agents Cammish and Company.

Local contractors John Thompson Developments carried out the construction.

James Howson, Development Surveyor for Dransfield Properties, said: “ We are delighted with the new office accommodation and look forward to welcoming Centrica to their new offices on St Augustine’s Park.”
