Five Valleys is the ‘plaice’ to be for great fish and chips

4 December 2023

A new fish and chips offer has joined the indoor market at Five Valleys shopping centre offering foodies the traditional British favourite seven days a week.

Cotswold Fish and Chips can be found between Armadeli and La Cantina selling fish, fishcakes and sausage deep fried in their signature crispy, golden batter as well as a range of pies and of course chips.

And for those wanting a chippy tea with a side of great atmosphere and live music on a Friday the unit will be open until 8:30pm.

Owner, Jay Naidu, moved to Stroud six years ago and has been a resident of Five Valleys for over four years, living in the centre’s residential apartments. Jay is also the proud owner of Namaste and Asian Plaza within the Five Valleys market offering authentic Indian street food and all the ingredients needed to cook a curry at home.

Jay said: “We have had a great six months trading at Five Valleys shopping centre, it’s a great location with an overwhelming variety of food options expertly cooked by a community of passionate food experts – we’re proud to be part of that community.”

“We are excited to plug the gap in the current offer with that traditional British favourite – fish and chips.”

Cotswold Fish and Chips supports the local community by purchasing its produce from local suppliers, including Knights who are also based at the market.

Jack Simpson, Centre Manager at Five Valleys, said: “We hope foodies are thrilled to hear about the new fish and chip offer, it’s definitely a dish that’s missing from the market – we wish Jay every success.”

Cotswold Fish and Chips will be joining Five Valleys’ great line up of street food traders including Kyuri Sushi, La Cantina, House of Piri, Thai 2 Go, The BBQ Society, Non-Solo Pasta, The Noodle Bar, Oh Crepe, Sofia’s Chinese Kitchen, Marley’s Sarnies and ice cream vendor, Alfonso’s.

Cotswold Fish and Chips will be creating further jobs to bring the full team across all trading units to three people.

The market has one remaining unit, all enquiries should be directed to Olly Jansen at olly.jansen@dransfield.co.uk.
