Dransfield Foundation supports Red Cross work in South Yorkshire

The Red Cross in Sheffield has been given a £5,000 boost by the Dransfield Properties charitable foundation to buy a stock of brand new wheelchairs for children across South Yorkshire.
The donation will enable the team at the Sheffield Red Cross, based on Brightside Lane, to loan the specially made paediatric wheelchairs to dozens more children in the area through local hospitals including Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Max Newton, Senior Community Fundraiser at the Red Cross in Sheffield, said: “We are delighted that the Dransfield Foundation have chosen to support the Red Cross wheelchair loan service and can’t thank them enough.
"Through the kind generosity of organisations and people out there we are able to run this vital service that has a huge impact on the lives of young people and their loved ones in Sheffield and South Yorkshire."
The Dransfield Foundation was set up in April 2014 by the Barnsley based property specialists Dransfield Properties.
Funds are partly raised by the company’s annual charity bike ride which has been running since 2007. Last year a team of 19 riders cycling 400 miles from Trieste in Italy and climbed 14,000 ft. into the Alps before finishing their challenge in Munich.
Managing Director of Dransfield Properties, Mark Dransfield, said: “It’s great to know that every single penny we have donated will go directly to the purchase of new wheelchairs which the children of South Yorkshire will really benefit from.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be able to help through the Dransfield Foundation.”
