Marshall’s Yard picks Toplass for trainee management role
Event management graduate Charlotte Toplass has joined the team at Marshall's Yard in Gainsborough.
24-year-old Charlotte, who is from Bottesford, near Scunthorpe, has been taken on at the award winning Lincolnshire shopping centre as assistant centre manager.
She graduated in 2014 with a 2:1 in Managing Cultural and Major Events from Leeds Metropolitan University.
For the last 12 months Charlotte has been working as an events assistant at North Lincolnshire Council – at Marshall’s Yard she’ll be playing a key role in organising events and working with other businesses and stakeholders in the town to promote the area.
She will also learn about all aspects of shopping centre management, working alongside the Marshall’s Yard centre manager, Alison Hall.
Charlotte takes over the role from Annabel Plumtree who is relocating to head up the new Fox Valley development in north Sheffield – the £50 million project opens in June and is also developed and owned by Dransfield Properties Ltd.
Charlotte said: “I am really excited about taking on my new role at Marshall’s Yard, this is a great time to be joining the team at the centre with a number of new retailers and store expansions happening over the next few months.
“This is a great opportunity for me to learn more about all aspects of shopping centre management and expand my events and PR skills and I’m delighted to be joining the team.”
Centre Manager at Marshall’s Yard Alison Hall said: “We are really pleased to welcome Charlotte to the team here at the Yard.
“She joins us at an exciting and busy time for the centre and has some great experience in events – both through her degree and through the practical experience she’s gained. I’m sure she’ll be a great asset to our team.”
