Work gets started later this month on the final phase of the Alexandra Park development in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent.

The Nottingham based firm J. Tomlinson are the main contractor on the project and work is due to get underway on July 15th - the development will be completed by November this year.

This third and final phase of the Alexandra Park development will bring five new retail units to the town and complete this part of the horse shaped development which is built around a central 240-space town centre park park and home to the impressive Shard sculpture.

Further news about which companies are joining the line-up at the centre will be announced in the next two weeks.

Alexandra Park is already home to a Primary Care Centre and Boots store and pharmacy which opened in September 2011. They sit alongside the first phase of the development which houses a Carphone Warehouse and a fantastic DW Sports and Fitness Centre as well as a hair and beauty salon.

The first two phases have created and secured a total of 190 jobs and represent a £15 million investment in the area. The third phase will create a further 50 new jobs.

Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties, Amanda Holmes, said: “We are delighted that work is starting this month on this final phase at Alexandra Park in Tunstall.

“We will be making further announcements in the coming weeks about which retailers are taking space here and look forward to celebrating this milestone with a soil cutting ceremony later in the month.”
