The independent retailer Sandersons Boutique has strengthened the company’s management teams at the Fox Valley and Morpeth stores - appointing new Store Managers and Assistant Managers.

Fran O’Connell and Lucy Bowden have recently been appointed as Store Managers at the Fox Valley and Morpeth stores respectively.

Fran has been part of the Sandersons team since the first store opened in 2016, joining as a Sales Assistant. Earlier this year she was appointed as E-Commerce Director overseeing the successful growth of online sales.

Fran has now taken on the responsibility of the day to day running of the Fox Valley store and will be supported by Louise Fernehough-Hinchliffe, Head of Fragrance at Sandersons who has been promoted to Assistant Store Manager. Louise has built up years of retail experience managing major beauty brands including Clinique and Clarins.

Louise has been with Sandersons since October 2016, starting as a Sales Assistant in the Beauty Lounge before working her way up to become Head of Fragrance and managing the fabulous range of luxury fragrance brands.

At Sandersons’ Morpeth store, Lucy Bowden has been appointed to the Store Manager role after starting as the Assistant Manager when the store opened in October 2020. Lucy joined the Sandersons team from popular heritage brand Barbour and brings a wealth of experience in Retail Marketing and Management.

Lucy has appointed Angela Walker, who joined Sandersons in December 2020 as a Fragrance Sales Advisor, as her new Assistant Store Manager.

Angela brings experience to the team from a number of retail consultancy and advisor positions for Shiseido group, Liz Earle at John Lewis, Christian Dior at House of Fraser and Flair Recruitment. Angela has also run and managed her own successful businesses including Café Dolcella in Alnwick.

The Board of Directors at Sandersons have a strong ethos of promoting from within, investing time in nurturing their team and providing expert training to offer prosperous career growth paths within the company.

Managing Director of Sandersons, Lisa Fox said: “We are all extremely proud of Fran, Lucy, Louise and Angela who have proved to be fantastic assets to the company, particularly during what has been a really difficult time for department store retailers.

"We strongly believe in nurturing and developing our team – employing local people in all three of our stores and providing amazing opportunities for them to excel in their careers.”
