Hull Taxi firm on the road to success in new premises!
2 March 2010
Hull’s successful 353535 Taxis – which has around 280 drivers – is building on its success by relocating to new premises as part of a new retail development in East Hull.
The company has moved from 165 Holderness Road to a former doctors surgery at 434 Holderness Road, giving the firm dedicated car parking and more space to grow.
353535 Taxis is one of the biggest taxi firms in East Yorkshire and has around 20 office staff and 280 drivers who make some 30,000 journeys every week – from school runs to nights out on the town.
The company’s previous HQ has been bought by the developers Mount Pleasant Urban Regeneration as part of their plans for a new retail development on land off Holderness Road. The development site neighbours The Mount Retail Park.
Partners Ian Lamping and Gary Wilkinson say they’re delighted with their company’s new premises.
Gary added: “It’s a newer building which is much more accessible for people and has car parking facilities which we didn’t have before. Being a newer building it is also much greener and easier to heat and gives us a lot more space to work in.”
The developers are committed to working with all local companies affected by the development plans.
Just last month the Humber Social Club was also relocated and given a new lease of life in the former Royal Hotel on New Bridge Road. The former Deputy Prime Minister and Hull East MP, John Prescott, officially opened the clubs new premises.
Managing Director of Mount Pleasant Urban Regeneration and Dransfield Properties, Mark Dransfield said: “We are delighted that we have found the right premises for 353535 Taxis to operate their business from. It’s important when we relocate local companies that we find premises that will serve them in the future and enable them to grow and not just offer a quick fix.”
