They've covered 265 miles on their bikes, taken on the notorious Mont Ventoux in France and now the Dransfield Properties cycling team are facing their next challenge - ensuring they hit that £50,000 target for Leukaemia Research.
The 17 strong team of cyclists from across Yorkshire was fielded by the Barnsley based property development company to raise £50,000 as part of the Big 5-0 campaign launched by Leukaemia Research in its 50th anniversary year. The cyclists completed their challenge on Saturday (June 13th) riding from Lyon to Marseilles and taking on Mont Ventoux which features in the Tour De France.
The celebrity launch of the Big 5-0 fundraising push is being held on Tuesday (July 16th) and those saddlesore cyclists from Yorkshire will be among the guests.
The money raised in the mountain cycle challenge will be spent on research at the Children's Hospital in Sheffield.
This is the third year Dransfield Properties and PDR in Hull have fielded a team and they're planning to work their way across Europe with a leg every year - ending at Tower Bridge in London in 2020.
Mark Dransfield, Managing Director of Dransfield Properties said: "This has undoubtedly been the toughest challenge yet, we are a team of middle aged blokes and its really challenged us - the Tour De France cyclists do Ventoux in about an hour, one of our team members managed it in 1.37 so thats pretty good going.
"The rest of us took quite a bit longer but we are just pleased to have completed this course and now we're getting on with the challenge of getting all the money in thats been pledged."
