Exciting new beginnings at Five Valleys, Stroud
15 December 2021
Things are hotting up at Five Valleys, Stroud with the relaunch of two of its most popular eateries, Thai2Go and House of Piri, plus the opening of a new fish and chip shop, The Valley Fryer.
Keeping up with the ever-growing demand for fantastic street
food has led to Thai2Go undergoing a total refurbishment, while House of Piri has
extended into an adjacent unit, doubling its footprint.
The Valley Fryer has taken over the former bus station ticket
kiosk and transformed it into a contemporary space serving a traditional fish
and chip shop menu.
Wayne Miller from House of Piri, which employs five people,
said the extension meant an improved offer to include a full vegetarian and vegan
menu.
Wayne said: “We opened in April this year and within the first
two months we’d outgrown the space. We average around 500 customers a week which
keeps us very busy. This is a big investment for us. We’ve purchased additional
equipment to enable us to prepare and cook vegan and vegetarian food separately,
something we couldn’t do in the smaller unit.”
Valley Fryer owner Jordan Allen said he was excited to be
joining the Five Valleys business community. Jordan said: “I have always been
passionate about food and thought the idea of opening a fish and chip shop in
this location would be very popular! The centre transformation as a whole has
inspired my design and colour pallet and I hope it will prove popular with our
customers.”
Based on London’s award-winning Borough Markets, Five
Valleys is home to more than 20 traders, including street food, fresh produce,
restaurant and bars.
Five Valleys Centre Manager Jess Derham says the market’s
reputation as a one-stop retail-meets-dining destination is constantly growing.
Jess said: “Our stalls have a steady flow of loyal customers who know what they
want and come back repeatedly. Then we have customers who have only just
discovered us, it’s wonderful to share people’s excitement at finding such a
global choice of food, drink and fresh produce under one roof.”
