Dransfield Properties win fourth Award for Marshall's Yard

Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough has won another award – the fourth since the £39 million development officially opened to the public less than 12 months ago.

The prestigious mixed use development in the Lincolnshire market town has transformed a run down former factory site and although it only celebrates its first birthday next month it has already received high national acclaim.

And the latest accolade for the joint development team of Dransfield Properties and Prospect Estates comes from the Association of Town Centre Management, it was announced at a ceremony in London last night.

Beating schemes from Barking and Altrincham Marshalls Yard was congratulated for its diversity of use and getting the mix of retailing, entertainment, leisure, culture and business just right.

This latest award follows a clutch of other high profile awards, including the British Council of Shopping Centres Gold Award for In-Town Retail Schemes and the RTPI East Midlands Award for Regeneration. The East Midlands Development Agency also named Marshalls Yard Regeneration Project of the Year.

The vibrant centre has been transformed from a run down derelict site - high profile retailers including Marks and Spencers, Costa Coffee, Next and Laura Ashley rank among its tenants, there is also a JJB health and fitness centre and West Lindsey District council is due to relocate its headquarters to the centre in the Spring.

The development team has sought to bring forward a true mixed use scheme with high quality On the site of a former engineering works, Marshall’s Yard incorporates many listed structures, and with new architecture carefully designed to blend with the old with the new, the centre has a stunning architectural mix not found in typical shopping centres.
