Comfortable footwear specialists Pavers open new shop at Fox Valley

Comfortable footwear specialists Pavers have opened a new shop at Fox Valley shopping centre – and customers were invited to take part in a special competition worth hundreds of pounds as part of a bumper launch day. 

The long-established shoe company opened its doors to the public for the first time on Monday, April 15, and can be found close to the water fountains, near Zorro Lounge and next door to Ponti’s Italian Kitchen.  

To mark the official opening, customers are invited to enter a special prize-draw for the next month, with the winner taking home vouchers worth £600 to spend in store.   

Sharon Widdowson, Area Manager at Pavers, said: “It has been great to join the Fox Valley team and meet all the new customers who have come through the doors today to see everything Pavers has to offer. We are so excited to start our journey here at this wonderful centre.”

Abi Hilton, from the centre management team at Fox Valley, said: “Pavers are a brilliant brand who are very well-thought of by their customers and there has been a lot of anticipation for their opening here in Stocksbridge. 

“We are thrilled to be welcoming them to the Fox Valley family, and it was great to see so many people coming through the doors on opening day.”

The move has created seven jobs including a Store Manager, Assistant Managers, Supervisors and Sales Advisors.

The store will focus on footwear for adults and sells everything from shoes and trainers, to boots and slippers. 

Pavers was founded in York in 1971 by Catherine Paver, an ambitious mum to be proud of, who took out a £200 bank loan to fund her new business passion to find the perfect style for everyone’s feet.

The company started off small, at village halls and house parties, and through Catherine’s desire to source and sell shoes that fit well and look great, the company began to grow.

She was later joined by her sons, Graham, Stuart (Chair) and Ian, who have helped to nurture the family business and this desire, drive and passion to be a leader in stylish yet high quality comfort footwear. The current Managing Director is Jason Paver, Stuart’s son and Cathy’s grandson. 

Pavers is now one of the UK’s leading comfort shoe retailers, and boasts more than 130 stores across the UK and Ireland.

The company offers a wide range of brands including Fly Flot, Skechers, Padders and many more. For the fashion conscious, the store also offers the Bellissimo brand, encompassing the latest trends of the season.

Since 2018, Pavers have donated over £2m through its Foundation and actively supports causes in areas of health, education, community, and the environment via its employee grant application scheme, charities of the year and donations made on behalf of the family. 

Pavers joins a great retail line up at Fox Valley including independent department store, Sandersons, Go Outdoors, JoJo Maman Bebe and The Range.

The centre is about to launch into their summer events programme with the popular Food Festival taking place on the 15th and 16th June. Visitors are encouraged to keep a look out on the centre’s website (www.foxvalleysheffield.co.uk) for key dates to add to the diary.
