Plans for new independent department store unveiled for north Sheffield

25 January 2016

A brand new independent boutique department store will open later this year as part of the £50 million Fox Valley development in north Sheffield.

The 17,000 sq. ft. store – called Sandersons - will be arranged over two floors and house a range of great brands including Gant, Barbour, Phase 8 and Joules as well as Masai and Ted Baker.

On the ground floor there will be homewares and menswear as well as a fantastic cosmetics department with a brow bar, the first floor womenswear department will feature a stunning bespoke tea-room.

The main construction work has been completed on the store and the internal fit out work will start in the next two weeks – a glass lift is being installed to take customers to the first floor.

The brand new store will create around 30 new jobs and is being headed by Sheffield businesswoman Deborah Holmes, who will launch Sandersons on September 8th at Fox Valley with the new autumn winter fashion range.

The Fox Valley development will open in June. Sandersons joins a great line up of national and independent companies which include Full Gas Bikes, and the family run Italian restaurant Ponti’s Italian Kitchen who are launching their first venture outside London at Fox Valley.

The centre will also be home to the region’s largest Aldi store – further announcements are due to be made next month.

Deborah is married with two daughters, aged 20 and 17, her youngest daughter will start university this autumn.
She said: “North Sheffield is a beautiful and unique part of Yorkshire, it’s the part of Sheffield which I’m from so I hope I’ve got a good understanding of the kind of brands which will be popular in the area.”

“This is a really exciting venture for me and we’re now starting to select our stock for the autumn and winter season and finalising the designs for the different departments. It’s a fantastic space with some great natural light and it will definitely have the wow factor.”

Fox Valley is delivering a new  144,000 sq. ft. town centre in north Sheffield with a 600 space car park as well as brand new, high-spec office space. A new housing development with 118 executive homes is also being developed on a neighbouring site.
