Plans step up for shoe store opening at Lime Square

The internal fit out work is underway  this week on the new Wynsors World of Shoes store at Lime Square in Openshaw.

The company is aiming to open the new east Manchester store in March once the work on the 4,079 sq. ft. unit has been completed.

The brand new store is in a prominent location at Lime Square fronting the busy Ashton Old Road and joins a growing list of retailers at the centre which is anchored by an 80,000 sq. ft. Morrisons store.

Up to 15 new jobs will be created by the firm and the Lime Square store is the latest of more than 40 Wynsors locations across the north of England.  Openshaw customers will find a fantastic selection of big brands such as Adidas, Nike, Hush Puppies, Skechers, and Kickers.

Founded in 1956 Wynsors has grown from a handful of shops and market stalls into a chain of stores averaging more than 6500 sq. ft. per store – the company sells more than four million pairs of shoes every year.

Lime Square has been development by Yorkshire based Dransfield Properties, working in partnership with Manchester City Council and New East Manchester. Wynsors joins a retail line up which also includes Morrisons, B&M Stores,  Poundland, and McDonalds.
