Brand new store launched at Tunstall’s Alexandra Park

The Deputy Lord Mayor of Stoke on Trent, Cllr Majid Khan, has officially opened Tunstall’s new Home Bargains store – the company is the latest retailer to join the line up at Alexandra Park.

Home Bargains has invested around £500,000 in the new store, creating up to 40 new jobs in the area.

Cllr Khan cut the soil to mark the start of work on the on the development less than 12 months ago, and returned on Saturday (April 26th) to launch the new store.

The top brand, bottom price retailer joins Card Factory and Iceland who opened last month in this final phase of work at Alexandra Park – two further smaller retail units are currently being marketed.

The centre is owned and managed by Yorkshire based Dransfield Properties Ltd. It is home to The Shard sculpture as well as other high street retailers and a Primary Care Centre.

At 15,000 sq. ft., the new store is one of Home Bargains’ largest outlets, giving Tunstall shoppers a great range of bargains, including a fantastic selection of homewares.

Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: “Alexandra Retail Park will be a great location for us – we’re thrilled to be in a position to offer locals top branded goods, at exceptionally low prices!”

Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties, Amanda Holmes, said: "The new store looks great and it was nice to welcome Cllr Khan back to the centre for the opening, now this final phase of work is completed.
