Home Bargain’s opens new Tunstall store

25 April 2014

Home Bargains is investing approximately £500,000 in a new store in Tunstall, which will be officially opened by the Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Majid Khan, tomorrow (Saturday April 26).

Cllr Khan cut the soil on the development less than 12 months ago and he'll return to the completed development to launch the brand new store. Its one of five new retail units created in this final phase of works at the town's Alexandra Park.

The top brand, bottom price retailer is creating up to 40 new jobs in the community with its latest store.

The centre is owned and managed by Yorkshire based Dransfield Properties Ltd. It is home to The Shard sculpture as well as other high street retailers and a Primary Care Centre. Iceland and Card Factory both opened last month and Home Bargains is the latest company to join the line up.

This will be the first store to open in Tunstall – and the 10th to launch in Staffordshire – joining 330 outlets across the UK.

Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: “We’re excited to be opening our first store in Tunstall, and look forward to welcoming new customers through our doors.”

At 15,000 sq ft, the store will be one of Home Bargains’ largest outlets, giving Tunstall shoppers a great range of bargains, including a fantastic selection of homewares.

Joe added: “Alexandra Retail Park will be a great location for us – we’re thrilled to be in a position to offer locals top branded goods, at exceptionally low prices!”

Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties, Amanda Holmes, said: "We are delighted that Home Bargains are opening their new Tunstall store at our Alexandra Park development. We have worked with the company on a number of developments and we're confident the new store will be a great addition to the centre."

With more than three million customers each week, Home Bargains is one of the country’s best-loved discount retailers, stocking top quality, branded goods at low prices every day. The company also has an e-commerce website, www.homebargains.co.uk, enabling customers to shop online.
