Scaffolding coming down at Penistone’s Gateway Project

5 February 2014

The scaffolding at the Gateway development in Penistone is being taken down over the next few days as the striking new town centre building nears completion.

Internal stud walls in the first floor office units have also been completed and the impressive building will be ready for the first tenants to start fitting out their units early next week.

The leading local estate agency Simon Blyth will be the first to move into the development next week as coping works continue on the gable ends and the clock feature at The Gateway.

The brand new development is creating new commercial and office space in the heart of Penistone with the whole project expected to be completed early in the spring.

Built on a key site on St Mary’s Street The Gateway is supported by ERDF grant funding and is being delivered by Barnsley based Dransfield Properties Ltd.

The scheme is the final phase of the £15 million Penistone Town Centre Regeneration Scheme which also includes the neighbouring TESCO store, town centre car park and the markets area which were completed in 2010.

Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties, Amanda Holmes, said: “Things have really moved on over the last couple of weeks and the development is almost completed now. We’re looking forward to welcoming our first tenants next week.

“We are also marketing the units we still have available and will be planning an open day in the next few weeks.”
