Gateway Project nearing completion in Penistone

The new Gateway development in Penistone, South Yorkshire, is nearing completion with the first of the ground floor units due to be ready for occupation this month.

The brand new development will deliver new commercial and office space in the heart of Penistone with the whole project expected to be completed early in the spring.

The impressive entrance area glazing is being put in place this week and the contractors PDR have completed the roof tiling works as well as the attractive frontage features on the commercial and office development.

This brand new commercial development on St Mary’s Street is supported by ERDF grant funding and is being delivered by Barnsley based Dransfield Properties Ltd.

The Gateway is the final phase of the £15 million Penistone Town Centre Regeneration Scheme which also includes the neighbouring TESCO store, town centre car park and the markets area which were completed in 2010.

A number of local businesses including Simon Blyth Estate Agents have already committed to taking space in the development.

Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties, Amanda Holmes, said: “Work is progressing really well on site and the development is coming together with the first of our new tenants due to move in over the next couple of weeks which is great news.

"We are currently marketing the units we still have available and are interested in hearing from companies working in the business and professional services as well as digital and media firms, who are interested in in being based in the heart of this lovely market town.”
