Good progress made on Penistone's Gateway Project

The steel frame at Penistone’s new Gateway development is now complete and work is well underway on the block work which is due to be completed at the beginning of October.

The ground floor slab is also due to be put in place early next month and work will also start on the car park area at the development.

Fit out work on the ground floor units fronting St Mary's Street in Penistone will start at the end of October and the whole project is expected to be completed by February next year.

The brand new commercial development on St Mary’s Street is supported by ERDF grant funding and being delivered by Barnsley based Dransfield Properties Ltd.

The Gateway is the final phase of the £15 million Penistone Town Centre Regeneration Scheme which also includes the neighboring TESCO store, town centre car park and brand new markets area which were completed in 2010.

Several local businesses including Simon Blyth Estate Agents are already committed to taking space in the Gateway once it's completed. he new development will bring;


• Six new commercial units ranging in size from 1,200 sq ft to 2,400 sq ft
• Up to 21 first floor office units for start up businesses
• 25 new staff car parking spaces
• A shared lobby and facilities
