Work Starts on M&S Fit Out at Sanderson Arcade

13 August 2009

Work has started on fitting out the brand new M&S store at Morpeth's prestigious Sanderson Arcade development.

The retail giant is the anchor tenants at the ambitious new development which is due to open to shoppers on November 12th this year.

Morpeth currently has an M&S Simply foods and is opening a full store more than seven times bigger than its present outlet in the town.

The new M&S store will cover 32,160 sq ft over two floors and will stock a great product range including clothing, beauty, homewares and food - there will also be a first floor cafe.

M&S was the first national retailer to sign up to the £32m scheme which is being delivered by the development partnership of Dransfield Properties and Ethel Austin to redevelop Morpeth town centre.

Dransfield Managing Director Mark Dransfield said: "Having a full M&S store in Morpeth will really attract shoppers and put the town on the map as a great shopping destination, the Simply Foods already does extremely well in Morpeth and the new store will build on that success.

"Its great to see things taking really shape on site now and the M&S fit out is another big step forward for the development."
