Centre Manager to Head Prestigious New Town Centre Scheme!

27 April 2009

Deborah Anderson has been appointed as the new centre manager at the prestigious Sanderson Arcade development at Morpeth in the North East.

Deborah, who is 39, comes with a wealth of retail experience having headed up her own teams at the Keel Row Centre in Blyth as well as Monument Mall in Newcastle.

She is now taking over as centre manager at the £32 million Sanderson Arcade development - the North East’s unique new shopping destination which is due to be completed later this year.

Married with two teenage daughters Deborah is from nearby Whitley Bay and says she is looking forward to starting her new challenge at Sanderson Arcade.

“I have followed the progress of the Sanderson Arcade development with a great deal of interest and am delighted to be part of its future success. There is a real vision to create something totally fresh and unique here and I’m very excited to be a part of that,” she said.

Sanderson Arcade is being brought forward by Morpeth II - the development partnership of Ethel Austin Properties Ltd and Yorkshire based Dransfield Properties.

Managing Director Mark Dransfield said: “We are delighted that Deborah is joining the team, she has a great deal of experience in managing successful centres. We are looking forward to her bringing that experience to Sanderson Arcade which will be our flagship development.

“Deborah will be based on site from the beginning of May. Although the development won’t be fully open until later this year the next few months are going to be a crucial time in appointing staff and putting systems in place to ensure a well run centre.”

One of Deborah’s first duties will be to hold a road show to invite people to come forward for the many jobs that will be created at the centre.

One of the most prestigious jobs will be the company’s beadles who will be trained to become knowledgeable on the town’s rich history and will act as greeters within the centre.

With M&S as the anchor store and other retailers including Waterstones, Fat Face and East the development is almost fully let with a great deal of interest in the final units. Sanderson Arcade will be officially opened in mid November.

The 90,000 sq ft scheme incorporates retail units from 365 sq ft in the elegant arcade to larger units up to 12,000 sq ft surrounding a central piazza. Office space is also available at first floor level.
