Marshall's Yard Highly Commended in Industry Awards!
Marshall’s Yard has been highly commended by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in the organisation’s annual award ceremony for the East Midlands region.
The Ł39 million scheme in Gainsborough came second to the Westfield Shopping Centre in Derby and was picked out by the judges to receive the highly commended award in the regeneration catergory.
Since opening just over 12 months ago Marshall’s Yard has won four high profile regional and national awards for regeneration including the BCSC Gold Award.
The scheme was brought forward by Dransfield Properties and Prospect Estates and the architects were Chesterfield based WCEC.
As well as turning a run down and empty brownfield factory site into a thriving town centre shopping, leisure and office complex, the development has also created hundreds of new jobs and given a new shopping destination to this part of Lincolnshire.
The developers and architects worked closely with English Heritage to deliver a scheme which answers the needs of a modern mixed used centre while keeping many of the original features of the former factory building.
Andrew Malley, Retail Property Director for Dransfield Properties, said: “We are delighted to have been highly commended for Marshall’s Yard by the RICS.
“Since Marshall’s Yard opened in April 2007 the development has been nominated for and won several awards. It’s a great testament to the hard work of everyone involved in the project that the development continues to be recognised for its contribution to regeneration within the industry.”
