Satisfying those hunger pangs will be even easier when a new business venture gets underway at Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough, bringing with it a truly Victorian feel and flavour.

Shades of the past will prevail when Paul Redfern and Sons’ Traditional Food Company opens for business in October. A Victorian style cart, complete with lanterns, old fashioned urns and kettles as well as music from a bygone era will create a different sort of ambiance for hungry shoppers and visitors as well as those employed at the Yard.

Jacket potatoes with all the trimmings and fillings, roasted chestnuts and Victorian inspired confectionary  will all feature on the menu at Paul’s new outdoor food outlet. He is hoping to open before the end of October and his intitial plan is to trade for five days a week from about 10 am 3 or 4 pm.

Commenting on this new opportunity, Paul said:

“I come from Retford but recent visits to Gainsborough have really impressed me. The town has come on in leaps and bounds recently and Marshall’s Yard, which has a very distinct traditional feel to it, is exactly the right place”.

Cathy Conway, PR and Marketing Manager at Dransfield Properties Ltd, the urban regeneration specialists behind the Gainsborough redevelopment scheme, said:

“We welcome Paul to Marshall’s Yard and are pleased that he will be adding yet another dimension to this thriving and vibrant development. I am confident that the heart-warming choice of food on offer will also be welcomed warmly by hungry shoppers especially now that the weather is turning colder”.
