Marshall’s Yard taxi fleet unveiled

5 March 2007

A Gainsborough company has been appointed as the accredited provider of taxis for Marshall’s Yard, and this week unveiled a fleet of cars in the vibrant Marshall’s Yard colours and logo.

Diamond Cabs will have exclusive use of the Marshall’s Yard taxi rank, and as the accredited provider, the company will operate to strict guidlelines to ensure that all passengers enjoy the highest standards of service, with clean, smoke-free cars.

Three Ford Mondeos and one people carrier have been completely resprayed in Marshall’s Yard green, and emblazoned with the Marshall’s Yard flower.  They still feature the contact number for Diamond Cabs to ensure the company name continues to get exposure.

They will be available for pick ups from designated taxi points within Marshall’s Yard, one at the entrance and  two outside the Marks and Spencer store.  All store managers will have the contact details, to help shoppers who want to travel home by taxi.

As well as helping shoppers to easily identify the accredited cabs, the resprayed cars will help to advertise Marshall’s Yard, and with Diamond Cabs carrying passengers throughout the Lincolnshire area, the cars are set to attract visitors to the centre from miles around.

And in line with the Marshall’s Yard green policy, over the next three years the cars will be phased out and replaced with lower emissions models.

Diamond Cabs was set up in December 2005 by husband and wife team Julie and David Sanderson.  After years of being employed in managerial positions they decided to take the plunge and set up their own business.  The past 15 months have been a success and they’ve managed to grow their business from a single car to six cars and six drivers on the books.

Julie Sanderson said:  “We are really excited about Marshall’s Yard opening and pleased to be working in partnership with the centre to provide a taxi service for visitors to the centre.  The cars certainly stand out and will help Diamond Cabs be recognised for miles around!”

Richard Hill, Centre Manager at Marshall’s Yard, added: "We interviewed a number of taxi companies and found that Diamond Cabs had an excellent approach to customer care which will ensure visitors to the centre by taxi have the best possible service.”
