Selby florist to help shopping centres bloom

Selby based Lisa’s Florists have been appointed official flower suppliers to the town’s Market Cross and Three Lakes shopping centres.

Over the next few weeks, owner Lisa Walsh and her team will brighten up the two centres with colourful floral displays to enhance their appearance and brighten up shopping trips.

Green-fingered Lisa has been trading in Selby for ten years.  Her appointment reflects Dransfield Properties’ commitment to employing local contractors on their developments.

The new flowers for Market Cross are the latest in a series of improvements made to Market Cross since Dransfield Properties purchased the centre last year.  Work started on a £500,000 refurbishment programme last summer and traders and shoppers have noticed a big difference.

Outdated glass canopies have been removed and replaced with colourful awnings.  Overgrown bushes have been cleared to make way for new planting, CCTV has been installed and traditional signage erected to reflect Selby’s market town character.

The improvements have reduced the number of vacant units in the centre – when Dransfield Properties took over the centre it had six empty units, now it has only one.

David Hale, Surveyor at Dransfield Properties, said: “I’m pleased to welcome Lisa on board.  Market Cross looks much better than it did 12 months ago and the floral displays will further enhance the improvements made so far.”
