New artists impressions have been released this week, showing how the view from James Street could look if the plans to extend Morrisons, build new retail units and deliver a new primary school are approved next year.

The graphics show the proposed Morrisons with its kiosks moved to the rear of the store, creating attractive frontage.  They also show how the derelict garage to the rear of the store could be brought back into use, possibly as a café bar, with plaza area and seating outside.

The impressions have been produced following further consultation with the town’s stakeholders, which found some local stakeholders  were concerned about the view of James Street from Market Place.

During the latest round of consultation meetings, concerns have also been raised around the proposed servicing of Morrisons along Back Park Street and Dransfield Properties are investigating an alternative route.

Mark Dransfield, Managing Director of Dransfield Properties said:  “Although we have already submitted our application, we are continuing to work with the town’s community and modifying our plans to take on board issues which arise.  We have a long history of delivering community led schemes, and will do all we can to ensure that the views of Selby residents, traders and other stakeholders are incorporated into our final proposals.”
