Leading South Yorkshire property firm Dransfield Properties Ltd has appointed Emily Hughes as the company’s new Head of Communications.

Emily has worked at the award-winning development company for four years as part of the PR team and has now been promoted to head up the department.

Dransfield Properties owns and manages a number of award-winning, mixed-use centres across the UK with more than 630,000 sq. ft. of retail, office and leisure space and over 160 different tenants across the portfolio.

The company is based at Dransfield House Fox Valley where the head office team manage its six centres shopping centres across the UK. As well as Fox Valley the company owns Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough, Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth, Five Valleys in Stroud, East Manchester’s Lime Square and Market Cross in Selby.

25-year-old Emily takes over the communications role from Amanda Holmes, who will still be involved with the company on a part time consultancy basis.

Managing Director of Dransfield Properties, Mark Dransfield, said: “I am a great believer of promoting from within and over the last four and a half years Emily has really shown that she has the talent and ability to take on the role.

“This is a challenging time for retail but also one which is presenting new opportunities for us as a company and Emily will be playing a key role in how the company responds to the changing retail environment.”

The company is currently working on the major redevelopment of Five Valleys in Stroud town centre as well as delivering two new Sandersons department stores in both Morpeth and Stroud.

Emily added: “I am delighted to be taking up this new opportunity at Dransfield Properties working with a great team of professionals.

“We have some exciting projects coming up in the next few months which I’m looking forward to getting involved with – including the launch of the new Morpeth Sandersons department store later this month.

“Communications in our retail centres is all the more important at this time and I am working closely with all our centres teams to ensure we have a clear message for our customers.”
