UK’s largest bakery chain re-commits to Dransfield shopping centres

18 June 2020

The bakery chain Greggs has re-committed to three of Dransfield Properties’ shopping centres – continuing a strong relationship with the company that spans nearly 15 years.

The UK’s largest bakery operator currently has 1,764 stores including stores at Lime Square in Openshaw, Fox Valley in North Sheffield and Marshalls Yard in Gainsborough – all centres owned by Dransfield Properties.

The lease for the Lime Square store has been extended for a further five years, committing to the centre until January 2027.

And at Fox Valley and Marshalls Yard the company has removed the break clause from their leases, committing to the schemes until June 2026 and September 2027 respectively.

All three of the Greggs stores have consistently performed well and frequently exceed their targets, particularly during seasonal events across the centres.

Greggs stores across the Dransfield portfolio have plans in place to re-open this week the weekend following a 12-week closure throughout the lockdown.

Dransfield Properties Estates Director, James Shepherd said: “Greggs is a great national retailer to have across our schemes and we are delighted to be continuing that relationship with the company.

“This year has been extremely difficult for everyone in the retail and food industry, so to have a national company such as Greggs committed to working with us is fantastic news. We wish them all the very best and they roll out their store re-opening plans this week.”
