New restaurant The Forge creates more than 20 new jobs in Gainsborough
the exciting new town centre bar and restaurant venture, The Forge Restaurant
and Bar opens its doors in Gainsborough – it will be unveiling a stunning
contemporary look with a new team ready to serve a great selection of food and
new restaurant and bar can be found at the ground floor of Gainsborough’s
Travelodge Hotel, just opposite the popular Marshall’s Yard shopping centre and
will be fully open from the week commencing February 17th.
couple behind the Cream Café at Marshall’s Yard, Michael and Mette Robinson,
have taken on the new venture and have worked closely with the local Job Centre
to recruit their talented new team.
Job Centre team assisted with a two-week course ahead of the interview process
to prepare potential candidates for entry into the hospitality industry.
the 12 people who attended the course 11 were taken on to work at The Forge – with
a total of 22 new jobs created by the new venture.
the doors open The Forge will serve a delicious
selection of British classics with a modern twist, with a menu for breakfast,
lunch and dinner. Good quality and locally sourced food are at the core of the

The new ground
floor restaurant and the Travelodge Hotel have been developed by Dransfield
Properties working in partnership with West Lindsey District Council, the
authority has supported the development through grant funding. The hotel opened
in November 2018.
