New Greengrocer venture launches in Selby

Market Cross in Selby is expanding its retail line up with the opening of a new family run green grocers later in the autumn.

Lee Garforth’s new shop will be called The Greengrocer – he comes from a family of grocers having worked alongside his Father before he retired. Lee’s Dad will still be on hand to help him with the new Selby business.
 
The Greengrocer will be located in the 900 sq. ft unit at Market Cross which can be found next to Hair Innovation and Savers and the company has taken on a three year lease. 
 
The new store is currently being fitted out ready to open on Friday 1st November at 9am. Lee’s daughter Chloe works in the family’s second shop in nearby Garforth where she runs her own floristry business. 
 
The Greengrocer will be providing quality fresh produce locally sourced where possible, stocking a wide range of yogurts and other popular products from Longley Farm. The shop will also stock local honey from Camwood.
 
Lee and his team will also sell whole foods such as dried fruits and nuts as well as homemade preserves. 
Vegetable boxes will also be available as well as fruit baskets.
 
Market Cross is managed by Sheffield based Dransfield Properties Ltd who own and manage retail and mixed-use developments across the UK. 
 
Estates Surveyor at Dransfield Properties, Alisdair Gillespie, said: “We are delighted to welcome The Greengrocer as a new tenant at Market Cross. They are a great family business and we’re looking forward to the new store opening next month.”
 
Lee Garforth said: “Our shop will be customer focused with friendly service. I am looking forward to becoming part of the community here in Market Cross, Selby”
 
Hair Innovations opens at Market Cross later this month and new first floor town centre apartments are also being delivered there as part of a programme of investment in the centre.
