DPL Shopping Centres Celebrate NABMA’S Love Your Local Market

23 May 2019

Shopping centres across the Dransfield portfolio are celebrating the NABMA’S Love Your Local Market campaign in May – including the popular Morpeth Market and the Fox Valley Market.

NABMA which stands for National Association of British Market Authorities is the UK’s largest annual celebration of retail and wholesale markets in the UK. The two-week campaign runs from Friday 17th until Friday 31st May 2019 and this is the 8th year the campaign has been running.

At Fox Valley in north Sheffield the team have linked with St Ann’s Catholic Primary School to create a colourful banner promoting the centre’s market which takes place every Friday as well as a Farmers’ Market which runs on the first Saturday of every month.

Each year the Love Your Local Market has a different theme and this year’s is “Markets Close to Your Heart”. This theme has been reflected in the lovely artwork from the St Ann’s pupils.

The pupils who created the pieces of artwork range from year 1 to year 6. The Fox Valley team are also planning to launch a series of new themed markets later in summer – including a Vegan Market and a Craft Market.

The Love Your Local Market event theme has also been celebrated at Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth where the team support the weekly market and monthly Farmers’ Market.

Morpeth Market will have a special celebration on May 29th and local first schools have been invited to help create a special postcard to encourage people to visit Morpeth and the town’s markets.

Dransfield Properties’ Operations Director, Medi Parry-Williams, said: “We are delighted to be involved with the Love Your Local Market campaign across our centres.

“Our teams work closely with other local partners to deliver some fantastic local markets and are very proud of what has been achieved in recent years in developing the markets across our centres. This two-week campaign is a great way of raising awareness.”
